Accordingly, Nha Trang City will be developed into a tourism city with modern tourism infrastructure facilities to meet visitors’ needs.

The South central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has great potential to develop tourism. The number of tourists to the province increases every year. In 1995, the province received 760,000 tourists while it welcomed the one millionth visitor abroad on the five-star cruise on December 16, 2006.
To further promote tourism, the provincial People’s Committee has held a meeting to approve the overall plan for tourism development till 2010 and 2020. Accordingly, Nha Trang City will be developed into a tourism city with modern tourism infrastructure facilities to meet visitors’ needs. Nha Trang Bay and the northern area of the Cam Ranh Peninsula will be turned into two national tourist sites with an initial investment capital of around VND4,500 billion in the 2006-2010 period. The provincial tourism sector is expected to receive 1.5 million visitors, including 500,000 foreigners by 2010, earning more than VND1,500 billion.
